What we process about you, why, and the rights you have under the GDPR.

Using the website and the free API

  • The website loads nothing from other sites: no analytics, no ads, no web fonts from third parties. It sets no cookies until you start a checkout (below).
  • To enforce the free allowance we count requests per IP address. The count is kept in memory only and starts over every day. We do not log the requests you make or the proxies you receive.
  • Your browser remembers which code language you picked in the examples. That choice stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Buying a key

  • When you subscribe we ask for your e-mail address, only to send you your API key and to help you if something goes wrong with the order.
  • Starting a checkout sets one cookie, gp_checkout: a random reference that lets this browser, and only this browser, see your key after payment. It is strictly necessary for that, holds nothing about you, and expires after 48 hours.
  • Our server keeps the order reference, your e-mail address and the key for 48 hours after the purchase (a day for a checkout you did not finish), then deletes them. The key e-mail stays in our sent mail.

Paddle (paddle.com) is our reseller and Merchant of Record: you buy from Paddle and give your payment details to Paddle. Paddle passes us your name, e-mail address and order details so we can issue your key, process the order, prevent fraud and support you. We have a legitimate interest in that use, and it is necessary for the contract you enter into.

We keep this information while your subscription is active, and afterwards only as long as the law requires. We do not share it with anyone who is not needed to provide the service.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or withdraw consent and have it erased. E-mail [email protected] with “access”, “erase” or “consent withdrawn” in the subject, and include your name, e-mail address and order number. We answer within 30 days. Without your data we cannot send you keys or updates.

Security

The website and the API are served over HTTPS. Customer data is stored on access-controlled servers and processed only for the purposes above.
