How these proxies are verified

Every address on this page passed a full check shortly before you loaded it: a TCP connection, then an HTTP CONNECT or SOCKS tunnel, a TLS handshake with certificate validation, and a real HTTPS request to our own judge. The judge reports the address the request came from, which is where the country comes from and how we know the proxy did not pass our address along. New proxies are also timed and asked to fetch example, google, amazon, yelp; those tests are repeated every 6 hours while the proxy stays listed.

A listed proxy is rechecked about every 45 min. The moment a recheck fails it is hidden; after 60 min without a passed check it is no longer served by default. That is why the numbers here move all day, and why a list copied an hour ago is already half dead. How it works has the full picture.

What a public proxy cannot promise

These proxies are run by strangers and shared with everyone who finds them. They can go offline mid-session, slow down without notice, or exit from a different place than their address suggests. Never send credentials or private data through one, use short timeouts, and when a request fails ask the API for another proxy instead of retrying the same one. For steady throughput and the website filters, a paid key raises the request rate; the proxies themselves stay public.
